We have 2 stands available for our greenstone mere and patu, with the largest stand also being suitable for items like paddles (hoe).
These Maori weapon stands are made from:
MEDIUM STAND - Pine (medium plain stand) - darker stand - looks good with laser or paua engraving - approximately 34cm long
LARGE STAND - Tulip wood (large stand with carving) - best stand for greenstone mere - lighter colour - approximately 38cm long
Both stands look great with the greenstone mere. The 33-34cm mere sits well on all the stands but sits best on the large stand.
Measurements:
Medium dark plain pine stand - approx 35cm (13 3/4') long
Large tulip wood stand with carving - approx 38cm x 8.2cm wide (15' x 3 1/4')
These stands can also be laser engraved for you, or have a gold metal engraved plate added.
Laser engraving is engraving done into the wood. It looks best on the pine stand, as the engraving contrasts best with a dark stain.
Choose up to 5 words for laser engraving into the wood, or up to 8 words for an engraved metal plate, entering the words in the Options box that opens up when you select an engraving option. The metal plate is recommended for the larger stand. Please note that the only reason you can return an engraved stand is in the unlikely event that it is faulty or words have been spelled incorrectly. You cannot return the stand just because you have changed your mind over the wording.
Paua engraving is also available, for up to 18 characters, and only in CAPITALS.
